Precision
Cam has always been a family run business. Formed out of the
Harold W. Baker Co. in the 1950s - a company that had been engaged
by the US government in World War II ammunition contracts - the
current owner, Harold W. Baker III, started his informal
apprenticeship at the age of seven. With just a short break for
education and military service in the 1960s (173rd Airborne Brigade)
he has spent a lifetime honing his skills as a design engineer.
Precision Cam has always concentrated in special design manufacture
and when it became a corporation in the 1980s started to design
and build special tools for the paper industry. These days they
engage in machine design, rebuilding and restoration, and are one
of the few lifelong specialists in classic Brown & Sharpe machines.
With over 50 years of hands-on machine shop experience
they have unmatched skills in special part manufacture.
From intricate
machine parts to specialist gun pieces Precision Cam are able
to create or replace all parts, large and small in a variety of
materials.
